Refund rules,
written plainly.
Effective 24 April 2026. 14-day cooling-off on packs, pro-rated partial use, automatic refunds on generation errors, transparent chargeback rules.
Our refund promise in one line
We refund unused credits and failed generations — always. Partial-use refunds are handled proportionally. Details below.
What this policy covers
- Pay-as-you-go (PAYG) credit packs — Starter, Standard, Power.
- Monthly subscriptions — Home, Home Pro, Household.
- Failed or interrupted generations in any tool.
- Accidental double purchases within 14 days.
14-day cooling-off window · PAYG packs
If you buy a credit pack and change your mind, you have 14 calendar days from purchase to request a refund. Within that window:
- Unused credits are refunded at face value (e.g., 900 unused credits = $9 back on the Starter pack).
- Partially used packs are refunded for the remaining balance only — the credits you already spent are not recoverable.
- Bonus credits (e.g., Power pack's +2,100) are not refundable in cash but are removed when the base pack is refunded.
After day 14, PAYG credits remain valid in your account for 12 months from purchase but are no longer cash-refundable.
How partial-use refunds are calculated
Example: you bought a Standard $29 pack (3,000 credits), used 400 credits, and request a refund on day 9.
- Remaining credits: 3,000 − 400 = 2,600
- Face value of remaining: 2,600 ÷ 100 = $26
- Refund issued: $26
- Pack is closed; 2,600 credits removed from your account.
All refunds are issued to the original payment method in USD. Currency conversion is handled by your card issuer; we do not add a surcharge.
Monthly subscriptions
Subscriptions renew every 30 days. You can cancel at any time — billing stops at the next renewal date.
- First 14 days: if you've used less than 25% of that month's credits, we refund the full month.
- Days 15–30: no pro-rated refund; the month runs to the end of its period, and cancellation takes effect next cycle.
- Accidental renewal: if you meant to cancel before renewal and billed anyway, email us within 7 days with your account email and we'll reverse the charge — once per account.
- Carry-over credits from the previous month are refundable at face value alongside any partial-use refund.
Automatic refunds on error
If a generation fails, is interrupted, or returns an error, the spent credits are refunded to your balance automatically — usually within 30 seconds. You'll see the credit line reverse in your account history.
Examples that trigger automatic refunds:
- Chat reply times out (no response received).
- Image or video generation fails a safety / content check.
- Our upstream AI provider returns a server error.
- Network interruption mid-render.
If you believe credits were spent but the output didn't arrive, email support@astheating.com with the approximate time and we'll investigate within 5 working days.
What we can't refund
- Consumed credits on successful generations. If the AI ran and returned an output, credits are spent — whether you liked the result or not.
- Expired credits. PAYG packs live 12 months; subscription allowances reset monthly with up to one month carry-over.
- Bonus credits in isolation — they can only be refunded if the underlying pack is refunded.
- Accounts terminated for terms violation (see Terms of service and Acceptable use).
- Currency conversion losses between USD billing and your local currency — those are set by your card issuer, not by us.
Chargebacks and disputes
If you believe a charge is wrong, please email us before filing a chargeback. We resolve 95% of refund requests within 5 working days; a chargeback usually takes longer and can suspend your account while the dispute is open.
Fraudulent chargebacks — where the account clearly used the credits and then disputed — result in permanent account termination and may be reported to the processor's fraud network.
How to request a refund
Email support with the details below:
- Account email you signed up with.
- Date of purchase (and order ID if you have it).
- Which pack or plan.
- Reason — “changed my mind” is a valid reason.
- Remaining credit balance (as shown in the nav).
We acknowledge within 2 working days, and aim to close the ticket within 5 working days. Approved refunds reach your card within 5–10 working days, depending on the issuer.
Your statutory rights
This policy is in addition to — not a replacement for — any mandatory consumer rights you have in your country of residence. UK/EU consumers have 14-day distance-selling rights; US consumers may have state-level rights; Australian consumers have ACL guarantees. Nothing here removes those rights.
Changes to this policy
If we change the refund rules, we'll post the new version here and email active subscribers at least 30 days before it takes effect. Purchases made under the old policy keep their original terms.
